Olimpiade Matematika ITS tingkat Nasional yang biasa dikenal dengan OMITS telah sukses diselenggarakan oleh HIMATIKA ITS. Penasaran bagaimana kegiatannya berlangsung?
Maria Roito Angelina selaku Presiden Olimpiade Matematika ITS (OMITS) 15th menjelaskan lebih lanjut terkait kegiatan ini. “OMITS adalah olimpiade Matematika tingkat nasional yang diselenggarakan oleh HIMATIKA ITS, dimana kegiatan ini bisa diikuti oleh siswa jenjang SD/sederajat, SMP/sederajat, dan SMA/sederajat, serta mahasiswa Perguruan Tinggi di seluruh Indonesia. Pada tahun ini, OMITS diselenggarakan untuk yang ke-15 kalinya dengan pelaksanaan secara hybrid untuk pertama kalinya,” jelasnya. Tujuan dari kegiatan diantaranya
Dijelaskan pula terkait teknis dan alur pelaksanaan kegiatan, “Alur kegiatan OMITS dimulai dengan pendaftaran ada tanggal 13 Juli - 17 Agustus 2022. Saat penutupan pendaftaran, terhitung sekitar kurang lebih 500 tim pendaftar yang berasal dari seluruh jenjang yang disediakan. Hal ini menunjukkan tingginya antusiasme peserta dalam mengikuti OMITS,” ungkap Maria.
Secara lebih lanjut, kegiatan OMITS 15th terdiri atas beberapa rangkaian acara yang dimulai dengan pelaksanaan Webinar OMITS dengan tema Unlock the Next Technology pada tanggal 20 Agustus 2022. Selanjutnya, 21 Agustus 2022 berlangsung Opening Ceremony OMITS secara online melalui Zoom Meeting dan Live Youtube. Sesi ini dilanjutkan dengan pelaksanaan Try Out OMITS secara online melalui Zoom Meeting dan myITS Classroom. Kemudian babak penyisihan OMITS yang dilaksanakan selama dua hari yaitu 27 - 28 Agustus 2022. Puncaknya, pada tanggal 4 September 2022 kemarin telah terselenggara semifinal, final, math imagery (pameran) dan closing ceremony OMITS secara offline di Departemen Matematika ITS.
“Pelaksanaan OMITS 15th ini diharapkan mampu menjadi wadah untuk memfasilitasi serta mengapresiasi potensi pelajar di Indonesia. Semoga OMITS dapat terus ada sebagai salah satu bentuk dukungan Departemen Matematika ITS terhadap perkembangan pendidikan di Indonesia, khususnya dalam bidang Matematika,” tutur Maria.
Sebagai penutup, Maria selaku Presiden OMITS 15th menyampaikan pesan dan kesan selama berlangsungnya kegiatan, “Semoga OMITS dapat terus berkembang dan beradaptasi terhadap perkembangan zaman, sehingga OMITS dapat terus menjadi tempat yang tepat bagi setiap orang dalam mengembangkan bakat atau potensi yang ada dalam dirinya. Semoga seluruh peserta OMITS juga dapat bertambah pengetahuan dan kemampuannya setelah mengikuti OMITS ini.” pungkasnya.
